The Little Secrets About After The Birth

The little secrets about after the birth

Birth is the moment most awaited during pregnancy –  one last thing before we get our babies in our arms! But no one tells the new mother that it is also the beginning of a hard life after birth.

In addition to adapting to her newborn, the mother goes through her own transition, both physically and mentally.

In this article, we share a few postpartum secrets that may be helpful in helping new mothers on their way to recovery.

During pregnancy…

Research in neurology and life sciences has shown that pregnancy changes the mother’s brain. It changes bite from bite to the arrival of the new baby.

Here’s the good news:  Pregnancy also makes us smarter, improves our senses, improves our emotional intelligence, and allows us to multitask more effectively!

Yet the emotional well-being of a future mother is constantly a balancing act. All her hormones must return to their normal state. This involves crying and laughing at the same time, having conflicting emotions and in short; to adapt to a new life.

How are women affected after childbirth?

About 75% of women suffer from “postpartum depression”. It is a small depression that peaks on the fourth or fifth day after birth.

It usually coincides with coming home after being in the hospital, where the mother received care both day and night. Now she has to arrange all the new and unknown tasks herself.

Fortunately, this stage usually disappears within a few days  after everything has become normal and routines have been established.

Postpartum depression

A woman’s body suffers a lot during pregnancy because she has to raise a little creature inside her. It causes  her internal organs to be displaced to make room for the new being.

Therefore, after the birth, all the displaced organs must be moved back to their original position. The mother may also have some scars that will take time to heal.

Secrets of postpartum

Sleep is the key to recovery

After all the efforts made during the birth process, the best thing for recovery is a lot of sleep. Sleep is essential for the body to recover.

Vegetables from frost

Frozen peas will help us during recovery. They are the ideal vegetable to put in plastic bags, to prevent inflammation after an episiotomy.

Hair dryer

Every time we need to use the bathroom, we should use some hot water, just to pour over the seams. It must be kept clean and dry.

After applying the water, you can use a hair dryer. Moisture is the enemy!

Physical rest

We are not superheroes, though you may soon want to get back to your normal routine. You should not make quick movements, or carry any kind of heavy things, during the first few days.

Even the smallest can make your stitching go up, which will make your recovery longer.

Dining

It is very important to eat as a lot of blood is lost during the birth process.

After the birth, an ideal time is to return to the soups that our grandparents used to make for us, to help us get well again.

A healthy and balanced diet is the basis for returning to your previous figure.

Share the tasks

Newborn with mother

When we come home with our newborn, there is no shortage of people who want to help and pamper the new baby.

Who washes up? Who puts clothes in the washing machine? What about ironing and cleaning?
This is where we do not lack any volunteers. As a new mother, you must allow others to help you. Accept the fact that your house may not be as clean as before. The most important thing is the baby.

Your highest priority should be you and your baby.

No visits

Visit? No thanks. It is normal for all your friends and acquaintances that they would like to visit you and the new baby.

However, this is not the best time. During the first week, the new mother should have time to recover. The newborn must have time to adjust to new routines such as sleeping, bathing and eating.

Our last piece of advice is that even though it sounds strange, this phase goes very fast. The state of exhaustion that you are in gets better with time.

The moments you spend with your newborn baby in your arms will be memories you will never forget.
