90 years error ring with Mickey Mouse

Mickey has been a central part of the Walt Disney Company since making his screen debut on November 18, 1928 with Steamboat Willie. He ended up becoming a world-renowned icon, and he was  the first animated character to receive a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. 

Fitting to his legendary status, this celebration, which has been going on throughout the year 2018 and will continue until the beginning of 2019, is filled with emotion and action.

The events celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday include:

An interactive exhibition with Mickey Mouse

The True Original Exhibition will pay tribute to Mickey Mouse,  while also allowing families to witness the character’s life from the very beginning.

This exhibition will feature original sculptures by famous, international artists who will captivate visitors with creative designs, based on the famous mouse.

This event will take place in New York City  from November 8, 2018 to February 2019. Tickets cost $38, which is equivalent to about $260, and they can be purchased via this link.

Disney stores

Since January 2018, Disney stores have been offering a series of 12 dolls in limited editions, as well as collectible brochures, mugs and other merchandise. All of these things are meant to soften the moments we have shared with Mickey.

Furthermore, Disney’s publishing wing presents  more than 30 titles to celebrate this milestone. These include and comics,  among other products.

In November, ABC will show  a celebration with movie stars and musical performances in honor of this icon. This will be shown throughout Latin America on the Disney Channel, as well as the company’s own digital platforms.

Disney theme parks will celebrate Mickey Mouse

On November 18, Disney theme parks around the world will celebrate the cause with some of the mouse’s signature products, as well as special opportunities to take a picture with the character.

Meanwhile, we the parks hold parties in honor of the celebrated icon. The events will take place between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019.

Official Disney fan club events

In association with Disney’s animation studio,  fans will present a new portrait of Mickey. It will have its debut in the official fan club magazine. The artist who has the honor of painting the official portrait is the well-known painter, Mark Henn.

On November 23, 2018, it will be presented at an  event titled “Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse.”

This event will be filled with fun presentations, speeches and entertainment and it will be held at the Walt Disney resort. Gold category members will also receive 23 special gifts from the mouse itself.

Disney Channel

Disney Channel will also celebrate Mickey’s 90th birthday with the  debut of the fifth season of Mickey Mouse  short film, which will bring the total number of episodes to over 90.

Meanwhile, in late 2018, the channel will also show a seven-minute special edition of the iconic mouse’s birthday.

Disney on Ice and Mickey Is Art

Disney on Ice will also pay tribute to the company’s star  with special anniversary shows. These will take place in Europe, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States.

Meanwhile,  38 art and design schools in France will hold a special competition called “Mickey Is Art”. For the competition, students must produce a work of art based on the beloved mouse.
